Provisional Electricity

To comply with building regulations I have to display a notice to confirm we have the permission and what is being done. Shame I did not use indelible ink! One rainfall weakened it and the second removed it completely.

Happily it did not prevent Enedis finding me. They spent the morning connecting our provisional supply to the nearest telegraph pole. Unfortunately it is on the other side of the road so I will have to run a connecting cable over the entrance arch to connect to the mains I am installing on the site. Later.

While they were working outside I got on with removing the stump of the tree I have cut down. I also removed the dead pear tree which was a lot easier as the roots had not taken.

In the afternoon, I was joined by Philippe, our new neighbour from across the road. He wants to get fit so volunteered to help me shift the sand for filling the trenches. Really nice to have someone to work with again. With two of working at it we got it done much faster. Here he is putting in the sublayer of sand before the pipes are positioned.

By the end of the day, the pipe through to the house was laid, filled and taped with stone covers.

As one part of the installation is completed and pipes laid it is clear that more trenches are needed. This is the water supply to the BBQ area that still needs to be dug.
