Ground Floor Tiling 2

Today the screeders arrived to lay the ground floor over the underfloor heating pipes. While they organised themselves, I finished off the installation of the earthing points in both the workshop and the car park areas.

They set up their mixing station at the front gate where the materials had been delivered and barrowed the mixed screed (which included polyamide fibres for strengthening) into the house. Mohammed laid a thin level of screed to cover the pipes and protect them. This was done right to the end of the ground floor to give a pathway for the wheelbarrows to run over without damaging the pipes.

Which the pathway installed the screed was delivered in earnest. Once Mohammed had adequate quantity of screed in place he set about levelling it manually using a laser and 35 years of experience. By the end of the first day about 30% of the flooring had been levelled.

I spent my time cleaning out the workshop so it could be tiled and made a start on cladding the front of the workshop on the outside.
