Crossing the Site Boundary

Florent dug the trench up to the doorway but left me to do the bit up to the water main box. I followed his guidance from the evening before and it was surprisingly easy to do as long as I took the time to position the digger correctly.

So I finally got the water supply in and on although there is a small leak in one of my joints. For the moment we just need to turn the water off each night until I can get around to redo it. The problem is that despite requesting a 32mm connection (to reduce pipe losses on the long run through to the house) the RESE only supply 25mm connections off their main pipe. I have had to organise reducers and connectors to get the pipe to fit, hence the number of joints and one that leaks. It also does not accept the 32mm pipe easily so it is putting constant pressure on the joint so I will have to re-excavate the box by hand, dismantle it, cut it to release the pressure on the pipe, fix the leak then reassemble the lot. I will need to set a day aside to do it once the builders are on site.

Still pleased with the progress though.
