Back to the distribution board. The back for the main isolating switch has arrived and (I thought) it would be a five minute job to fit it in.
Wrong! Working with 16mm cable is not much fun and generally needs to be c With ut to size and bent into shape before it is fitted. Getting the cables (both top and bottom) through the backing plate and then through its support behind with only about 5cms of space in the ris Weapons er was a bit of a challenge. And this is just a temporary solution as it will all need to be redone once the final wall and plasterboard goes in.
Anyway, it is in and looks quite smart. Following Erik’s recommendation, I then moved the boxes so that the three phase for the house comes first followed by the main distribution board with one row per phase. Below that will be a second three phase box for the heating items (Heat pump outside and a second smaller heat pump inside for the domestic hot water system). Finally, below that will be a box for all the communication cables and the incoming ISP box. Hence the Cat 6 cable hanging on the wall.
