Windows and Timber Frame Installation 1

Today is Monday. Following a couple of short discussions on the revision to the windows quote last week, I received a revised price and arrangement via email and then a phone call on Thursday (7th) to say that the windows had arrived and could they come to install today!

I explained that the timber wall had not even started (although I had by chance organised for Esteban to start working on it with me this week) so I agreed on the basis that they would cover the cost of splitting the installation in two as there was no chance of completing the wall while they were on site.

So this morning Esteban and I started to construct the timber frame, bolting it first to the walls for support.

While we doing the wall the fitter Kevin and Xavier got on with the windows in the existing openings. They worked quickly and efficiently, were pleasant to deal with and but the end of the day had done all the upper windows plus the lower windows in the utility and kitchen areas.

By the end of the day Esteban and I had also finished the first door opening (the smaller main entrance) ready for the door frame to be installed.
