April 22

Although we did work on Good Friday (as it is not a bank holiday here in France) it was agreed to take a break for the rest of Easter. The stone reveals on the original window openings were particularly difficult to board. The problem was compounded by the lack of consideration for plasterboarding given by the window installers. Two windows were very bad, the one shown and the one in the utility room where I could not hide the deflections and imperfections but Lee simply floated a plaster mix over them to make them as straight as he could. Still needs a couple of coats but already I can see the benefit of his work.
