The front “garden” is actually an overgrown collection of old foundations so putting a spade in the ground is always exciting. I started to lift a few to see how serious it was and finally gave up as it is a JCB activity not a manual one.
Having given up with the stones I turned my attention to the René Claude plum tree that is sadly in the middle of the swimming pool. Need the chainsaw to remove the trunk. I have taken some cuttings that may or may not survive but in any case we will plant a new tree in the garden to replace it.
The water mains pipes have arrived but need straightening so I have stretched them around the trees and swings to allow the sun to soften them.
This is the wall against which the Car Park will be positioned so sadly, these lovely lilacs will be lost. Will try cuttings and replanting but will renew if all else fails.
