The fosse is stabilised with stone. This new design avoids a concrete base and anchoring to prevent the fosse from floating. instead the crenelated design of the sides are filled with stones and the whole is blocked into the earth structure. Cheaper and quicker.

The connection of the pipework to the house is done using specially toughened pipes at my request. Just in case we need to get a large vehicle or machine to the back garden in the future I do not want the weight to crack the sewage pipes. These blue versions are tougher, thicker and rated much higher for loading.

At the last moment I discovered we need a second electrical supply to the fosse (why do the suppliers not give out an electrical diagram?). This involved pulling the existing cable out and replacing with with a second.

Electrics and pipework sorted, the trench is backfilled and warning tapes applied.

Attention moves to the filter bed which is levelled before the pipes are laid and connected between the two inspection chambers. the whole is then covered with more of the special gravel.

Back to the workshop to add some more panels while they finish off.
