Windows and Timber Frame Installation 3, The Yale Lock

While Esteban and I continued Buiding and in part insulation the wall and enclosures for the electric shutters, Xavier and Kevin progressed the door installations. Here you can see the fixed window in the kitchen, the 2-door main entrance and the 4-door opening for the lounge. The external elevations are stating to take shape.

With the main doors in, attention focused on the cats and the infamous cat flap (that I supplied from Amazon) was fitted. Looks good. Hope the cats like it.

As my back is still giving me problems I left the heavy work to Esteban and concentrated on fitting the new electronic lock system to the front personal gate. After a lot of research iahve chosen to go with a Ring system with doorbell video and alarm system. This is listed as working with a Yale lock and I tested it at home to check it before fitting. It is a keyless lock relying on a key pad for personal codes and also works with both Credit card sized cards and smaller key fobs.

It went in reasonably easily and works well so far although it will not ne internet ready until a WiFi repeater is fitted to the car park (and of course, the house WiFi is installed!). For now we continue to use the old fashioned key.
