The wooden posts are markers at junctions or where crossings occur to remind me to dig carefully over the water mains.  The red gaine is for mains electricity and the green gaine is for telecommunications including our computer network and fibre optics.  Once more I am preinstalling cable wherever I can.  Not the fibre optic though as this is the reserve of the internet contractors.
